Forming a new IT department

Telecommunications group

Objective:

Establish a new IT department for customer care.

Challenges:

The old IT department (budget of triple-digit-million euros) could no longer serve the new IT landscape. A migration of technology, processes, data and people was necessary whilst maintaining product development and support.

Approach:

Concept development and implementation of a migration programme, covering business processes, IT architecture, systems development, product and customer migration, and HR. Prior to implementing this complex programme, the company’s product portfolio was streamlined to reduce overheads.

Results:

The new IT landscape and department became fully operational, and the old one was discontinued with a significant reduction in the operational costs.
