Team member coaching

Client:

Team member - heterogeneous project group

Objective:

Increase her productivity when working with the team

Challenges:

A team member was experiencing significant problems integrating into the group.

Approach:

Within the first part of the coaching session, it became clear that the client was new to her actual team, and that such problems were usual for her when joining new groups of people. The resources that the client would require were enunciated and she discovered that she had been able to demonstrate such resources in several other context settings in the past. During the coaching, she learnt how to transfer her abilities into the group context, how this would change her activity within the team system, and also how this would affect the team’s response towards her.

Results:

After the coaching, it was much easier for the team member to integrate into the group, and she was more able to concentrate on her part of the work. She was also able to participate more successfully in other group events.
